SONGWRITERS CIRCLE / Twin Cities is a friendly group of pro, seasoned and aspiring Twin Cities songwriters, who meet monthly to perform & share our original songs. We do this for fun, constructive feedback & to develop our craft as writers/performers. Based on the Songwriters Guild in NYC, we use a relaxed, supportive positive format.
We also organize workshops/classes on aspects of songwriting & have occasional professional development presentations-- i.e. legal aspects, music publishing, studio production, etc.
Songwriters Circle's basic offerings include a monthly songwriters Forum or "working meeting", songwriter showcases at Dulono’s Pizza in uptown and Dunn Bros in Minnetonka as well as an acoustic songwriter open mic. Check our schedule on meetup.com to discover details/featured guest artists for our events, classes and special events.
Songwriters who work in all song styles and genres are welcome (singer-songwriter, rock, pop, folk, country, R&B, alternative, etc). Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you!
What a Songwriters Circle member says:
"This is a tremendous resource for people who want to work on their songwriting. There is a lot of knowledge in the room but also respect for writers being "where they are at" in the development of their songs. Don succeeds in creating an atmosphere that mixes thoughtful, honest feedback with compassion for those working through their particular creative process. There is also a feel to the room from artists willing to open up their work for examination. It takes courage, and this group respects that courage"
